MONTEBELLO- Police seized approximately 700 marijuana plants Tuesday at a commercial property located near a school.
The narcotics raid in the 3300 block of W. Beverly Boulevard took place at about 5 p.m. after the day ended for Eastmont Intermediate School, Montebello Police Department officials said in a statement.
The two properties are separated by an alley, officials said.
“Once inside the commercial property, investigators identified a fully operational marijuana grow equipped with artificial lighting, ventilating fans/temperature control, an odor control system and soil/nutrients for the plants,” the statement read.
Police estimated the street value, after the plants are harvested, at $300,000.
Two suspects believed to be associated with the property were detained in the investigation.
Charges are pending at this time against both adult subjects, officials said.
